Queensland Gaming Revenue Trend
May 2013 has produced positive gaming revenue growth for Queensland Hotels and Clubs.

Total state gaming revenue has increased 3.87% on May 2012.

The growth and decline that the gaming industry (as a result of the 100% non smoking ban introduced 1 August 2006, and economic factors) has experienced since August 2006 on a yearly month on month basis are illustrated in the following graph:

Vinnies Community Sleepout
There are more than 105,000 Australians who find themselves homeless each night of the year. Just under half of these are women and a quarter are under the age of 18.

Jacaranda Advisory director, Steve Koman, is volunteering to raise awareness and funds for the nation's homeless and will be braving the cold and taking part in this years' Vinnies Community Sleepout.

Steve will be sleeping rough, just as the homeless do; provided only with a piece of cardboard to sleep on, a small dinner and a warm drink.

All funds raised go directly to Vinnies to help them in their programs designed to break personal cycles of poverty by helping people to learn to make better decisions through a range of education programs, recreation activities and extensive information and referral services in a safe and supporting environment.

Funds raised on the 2012 Sleepout funded the ongoing provision of 112 affordable or support housing accommodations, assisted in the provision of over 100 new homes in areas of of real need in greater Brisbane and regional Queensland and helped fund the Social Housing Program which compliments the Families Back on Track facility opened earlier this year on the Gold Coast.
