Queensland Gaming Revenue Trend - Another record month

December 2014 has shown an increase in gaming revenue growth for Queensland Hotels and Clubs compared to last month.

Total state gaming revenue has increased 6.54% on December 2013. 
The growth and decline that the gaming industry (as a result of the 100% non smoking ban introduced 1 August 2006, and economic factors) has experienced since January 2007 on a yearly month on month basis are illustrated in the following graphs:

The Office of Liquor & Gaming Regulation have now upgraded their statistics to use the 2011 Census data Statistical Area Level 4 reporting areas.

A comparison of each area to the same month last year and also financial year to date performance is outlined below:

Keno & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence 2015

Submissions are now open for the Keno & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence 2015, which recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Queensland community clubs.

The awards extend to the state's best venues, services and people working within the vibrant $1.9billion industry, and acknowledge and pay tribute to the significant and valuable contribution they all make to Queensland.

Submissions close on Friday, 30th January 2015 with the exclusive black-tie Gala Dinner being held at The Arena, Gold Coast Convention Centre, on Monday 23rd March 2015.

Safe Night Out Strategy - Grant Funding Available

With the Queensland Government's implementation of the Safe Night Out Strategy, Safe Night Precinct (SNP) boards are eligible to apply for seed funding of up to $50,000 per precinct for board establishment and administration costs and can access to a pool of a further $8,000,000 for operational funding.

Club Manager - Yeronga Services and Community Club

Yeronga Services and Community Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Club Manager that will be able to drive the Club's business and operations.

The Club operates the main premises at Yeronga and facilities include:

  • Dining
  • Bar
  • Function and conference facilities
  • 80 gaming machines
  • Keno and TAB
  • Entertainment

The Club also owns and operates the Tarragindi Bowls Club and function centre which has a smaller club offering and function facilities.

The Manager reports to the Club Committee and is responsible for the profitable day to day operations of the licensed Club.  The successful applicant will need:

  • Proven management experience in the club/hospitality industry
  • Strong marketing and promotional ability
  • Sound knowledge of food, beverage, functions, gaming operations, activities and legislative requirements
  • Strong leadership, human resources and communication skills
  • The ability to think strategically and successfully implement strategies
  • Sound financial knowledge
  • Relevant gaming and liquor licensing certificates and licenses
