Queensland Gaming Revenue Trend - Another record month

June 2015 has shown an increase in gaming revenue growth for Queensland Hotels and Clubs compared to last year.

Total state gaming revenue has increased 7.66% on July 2014. 

The growth and decline that the gaming industry has experienced since January 2009 on a yearly month on month basis are illustrated in the following graphs:

Position Vacant - Venue/Club Manager - The Clubhouse Hervey Bay - Hervey Bay Golf Club 

The Clubhouse Hervey Bay is situated at the Hervey Bay Golf Club which is operated by the Hervey Bay RSL. The Clubhouse recently undertook a $1 million redevelopment and currently has 45 gaming machines, restaurant/cafe, bars, keno, TAB  and function area

We are looking for an energetic, self motivated professional person to enhance and embrace the exciting times ahead for the newest Club in Hervey Bay, and to work as an integral part of the senior management team to achieve results and be rewarded with job satisfaction.

The Clubhouse Venue Manager will report to the General Manager. S/he also works alongside the Head Chef in liaison with the Exe Chef from the Hervey Bay RSL regarding food delivery at the venue.

Your tasks and responsibilities would include:-

Work in consultation with the General Manager and other departmental managers to –

·         Maintain operating budget (KPI's) and take corrective action as necessary to assure that budget goals are attained

·         Increase levels of food service quality and enhance overall ambiance of member and guest dining experience - in conjunction with the Head Chef

·         Manage the overall daily operation of the Clubhouse

·         Manage and supervise staff and implement and maintain weekly rosters

·         Assists in planning and implementing procedures for special club events and functions

·         Maintain appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all equipment and facilities

·         Ensure that all legal requirements are consistently adhered to

·         Ensure that all services to members and guests are conducted in a highly professional manner

·         Maintain a safe working environment and attitude  in all areas of responsibility

Experience, Knowledge and Skills -

1.     Minimum 2 years manager/supervisory experience;

2.     At least 5 years' experience in hospitality - food, beverage and gaming

3.     Current  RSA, RSG & RMLV certificate and licence

4.     Must be eligible to gain a National Police Certificate for employment;

5.     Outstanding Customer Service Skills

6.     Excellent organisational skills, and ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timelines.

7.     Highly developed team management skills and commitment to team goals

8.     Excellent communication skills

9.     Must have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office

Position Vacant - Group Marketing Manager - Caboolture Sports Club 

Caboolture Sports Club Limited is one of Brisbane's Northside leading entertainment venue operators and is seeking a Group Marketing Manager to assist the Club service its membership base and execute the Clubs Growth Strategy.

The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for strategic development of the marketing, entertainment and promotional strategy of the Club and responsible for its implementation and on going success.

The role will involve:

  • Developing and implementation of marketing, promotional and entertainment strategies for four licensed Clubs
  • Maintain and enhance loyalty programs for the two membership groups.
  • Enhance and implement brand and public relation strategies
  • Design, develop, and implement strategies to grow the groups digital presence in all mediums
  • Develop centralised shared marketing services.
  • Providing innovation between the four venues.
  • Managing and motivating the marketing team

The successful applicant will need:

  • Proven marketing, promotions and management experience
  • Sound knowledge of print media, electronic and social  media , point  of sale,  cross marketing, data bases , loyalty systems, branding, public relations
  • Strong communication and written skills

Extended trading hours applications

The moratorium on applications for liquor trading hours for trade between 12 midnight and 5am ceased on 31 August 2014.

A number of sites have prepared and submitted applications for extended trading hours, and a number have been granted to date.  Early opening or liquor trading hours can also be applied for in certain circumstances.

To extend gaming hours the venue must also extend liquor trading hours.
