Steven Koman B. Com (UQ), CA – Director

Steve has a Bachelor of Commerce, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has been providing specialised advice and services to the industry since 1996 with a team of professionals.   Steve has had extensive experience in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries, with some areas he specialises in including business and financial advice, pre-lending reviews, due diligence, operational and performance reviews, workout strategies as well as planning.

A number of Steve's clients utilise his services on an ongoing basis, and have done so for a number of years.


Frank Balzary MBA (Griffith University) – Director

Frank has been involved in senior management roles within the club, hospitality and gaming industries for the last 25 years in both corporate and localised environments.

Frank has a strong corporate hotel and club management background with successful dealings in Queensland, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory and South Australia. He has extensive experience in managing multi-site, multi-jurisdictional hospitality outlets and networked food, beverage and gaming offers.  He is also well versed in the formulation and implementation of strategic plans.

An experienced on site manager for complex receiver manager/ reconstruction roles, Frank's most recent projects have included Melbas on the Park, Del Plaza, Grinning Dog Tavern and Kalamia Hotel, Ayr. 

Prior to joining Jacaranda advisory, Frank's most recent corporate role was that of National Gaming Manager for Coles Hotels where for four years he was responsible for both the gaming installations and the people who managed them in some 78 hotels across three states. Prior to that Frank was the QLD State Gaming Manager for Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group (ALH) for four years.

Frank has managed clubs and hotels of various sizes since 1988 with a key focus on business reconstruction, growth and management geared toward future opportunities. For 12 years (10 as General Manager) he was a key part of the successful management team at the Canberra Labour Club which has 330 gaming machines and three sites including sporting operations. Frank has a Masters of Business Administration (Griffith University) and is qualified member of Club Managers Association of Australia.
